The main aim of our Basic Engineering Department is to help our students to grow into fine human beings who are capable to face the challenges of the present world with the blessings of Arutchelvar Ayya.

The department of Basic Engineering is co-ordinating all the activities of first year engineering including basic science and fundamental engineering courses. The department has a team of highly qualified, experienced and research oriented faculties. The department plays a major role in equipping the students to take up their core engineering program education. The department takes efforts in concretizing student’s fundamentals so that he/she could be confident to adopt Engineering in selected branch from the next academic year. We are not only providing quality education but also mentoring the students to harness their inner capabilities with ethical and moral values. The department has well-furnished classrooms and equipped laboratories and facilities required for practicals of respective subjects and will be helpful for enhancing different skills of students handling various instruments. The English Language Laboratory assists students in improving their linguistic skills. Activities like individual and group presentations, situational conversations and software based assistance to enhance soft skills. The department faculty members are always attending the various courses like FDP, workshops, seminars, trainings and national and international conferences to upgrade and enhance their knowledge in their respective subjects.

Special care is taken of first year students by providing faculty mentors to help them to adapt engineering academic environment.It is rightly said that “A dream becomes a goal when action is taken towards its achievement” and we are committed to taking constructive and purposeful actions to produce optimistic, independent, compassionate, life-long learners and leaders who will bring glory to college, state and the nation.
